lol, I’m going to gather that tigers and lions don’t get much out of chasing flies either. I can imagine that it was pretty boring for them and they were more wondering how to get at that monkey with the camera instead. XD

@1984wrx my jack russell chases a laser and absolutely goes nuts over it. But my other dogs don’t really pay attention to it. I guess it just depends on behavior.
@1984wrx My dog goes nuts at a laser pointer…though he kind of acts like a cat…
@dolllface826 Probably so it would be easier for the cats to notice the laser. During the day on those surfaces, it would be difficult to spot.

i think some of the bigger ones weren’t paying attention to the laser pointer because they’re trying to figure out how to eat you

@1984wrx there are several videos of ducks who try eating a laserpointer’s light dot, so i guess any animal to which small things with fast paced movement fall prey to will probably chase it. your idea with monkeys is actually extremely interesting, and of course apes, too! the somewhat big brains of an orang or gorilla might understand it after some trial and error.
