But he had everything a boy could every want, Money, power, respect and fancy toys to flaunt, Guys wanted to be him, Girls wanted to meet him, He was a smooth criminal, lingo was never corny, The star of countless, classic ghetto stories Legendary general, controlled armies of lost souls Gangster and a gentleman locked in one soul, Survival was the only thing that he would ever know A product of society so where did we go… wrong Cause an eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind, You pick at karma enough and she’ll stop by to say hi, I never knew which one came first, thunder or lighting, But as life takes you on a ride, the resemblance can be striking, Evil deeds resulting from a dysfunctional seed, Grew from poverty the streets is all he needs, Found comfort around pimps pushers and thugs, The only family that he ever showed true love, But could you blame him? what an amazing poem MashAllah, I hate to be this spelling checking weirdo but i can’t help it, «angels» is spelt «angles» in the description

The lyrical in this piece is simply remarkable. «I never knew what came first, thunder or lightning. But as life takes you on a ride the resemblance can be striking» The among of literary tools used here is remarkable. Look at the scenery, Life is taking you on a ride, liek your on a road, and the sound of the thunder and the actual lighting are so fast, so close to you (because when you see lighting and you here the sound later that means its far) and you see it striking, seems so striking?

@Gbeans10 I agree with you and I did a lot of poems, and I’m pretty sure that he’s talking about his dad

  19. TheStranger125:

If I’m not mistaken, my guess will be that he is talking about his dad because the verse » when I I was young I thought the angels cry» part indicates crying for someones downfall and he’s young, and the verse » I said good bye a lot sooner, and I forced my self to cry,» it all connects to his youth, and the last verse » everything will be okay but he lied, cuz it’s still raining outside, probably means that he’s still gon and he’s still upset

  20. TheStranger125:

What was the last line about? «its still raining outside

  21. sportfreak90210:

@97bravada I think he’s talking about a friend who converted from Islam to Christianity… im not too sure though…

Nothing special. Despite the impact he had on so many lives, when he died- I couldn’t even force myself to cry because I said goodbye a lot sooner than most.
